Dr. Sonal has been a Vitreoretinal fellow at the prestigious Dr Nagpal's Retina Foundation and EyeHospital, Ahmedabad, where she honed her clinical and surgical skills under Dr. Nagpal and later worked there in the Vitreo Retina unit. She has also served as a Consultant Vitreo Retinal Surgeon at renowned hospitals like Bombay City Eye Hospital and Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital, Mumbai which has contributed to her rich clinical experience before she went ahead becoming the first lady Vitreo Retinal surgeon with her very own setup in the city of Mumbai.
She is an internationally recognized eye surgeon who specializes in the surgical and medical treatment of retinal disorders. Her areas of interest lie in the management of complex retinal detachments and advanced Vitreo-retinal surgeries including pediatric retinal diseases like Retinopathy of prematurity and managing congenital retinal disorders.
She is abreast with the latest management protocols and is known by her patients as a doctor who combines medical skill with care and compassion.
She has been an invited lecturer throughout the Country. Furthermore, she has Judged, Co-judged and participated in many continuing medical education courses for ophthalmologists and retina specialists all over India. She is also known for the numerous talks and presentations on challenging retinal cases at multiple international conferences overseas.
